More than

India is located in
the Punjab, and in
the almost rainless
rainfall varies from two to about five inches in
the year, and where the waters of the Indus
are led by a vast number of inundation canals
over the thirsty lands. In the Punjab the five
great rivers from which that country derives
its name are utilized to water the “ doabs ”
between the streams, on which the annual
rainfall is said to range from 10 to 30 inches.
