While the keel is being laid, the frames, or
with holes at regular intervals. The frame is
then drawn from the furnace, and while hot
is bent by the frame-turners to the required
shape and given the necessary bevel. During
the bending process the frame is held in posi-
tion by a series of iron pins, or dogs, placed in

of hydraulic bender has been introduced. (See

The frames, after being prepared as described,

means of wooden shores and “ ribbands.”
