place on the earlier Bar-Lock, the keyboard of which was
limited and the general conveniences of which were, as
regarded in the light of modern days, equally circumscribed.
The popularity which the Bar-Lock soon attained
naturally led its energetic sponsors, who were then styled
W. J. Richardson & Co., to convert the business into a
company, under the present title of The Typewriter Co.,
Limited.
