Consequently, before the new holder is put into operation the storage, is deflcient; whilst, once it is at work, the storage may be excessive, provision being made for the future. The holder tank in such cases is constructed of sufficient size to contain the extra lift, and in this way capacity may be increased by from 50 to 100 per cent, for a comparatively smal] outlay.
