During the electrical Exhibition held in Vienna in
1883 part of the dynamos and arc lamps, that were
to be found in the Exhibition-palace in „the Prater“,
were equally subjected to numerous experiments and
measurements by a special commission, consisting of:
A. Section II (for measures of force).
Professor Leopold Ritter von Hauffe, Vienna.
Professor E. Asboth, Budapest!).
Professor Josef Pech an, Reiclienberg.
B. Section III (for electrical measurements).
Professor Dr. Erasmus Kittier, Darmstadt.
Dr. E. Maiss, Prague.
Docent Dr. Josef Haubner, Vienna.
The results obtained by measuring the effect ob-
tained by a small dynamo-electrical machine of Prof.
Jürgensen, wound with proportionately thin wire, conse-
quently of great resistance, were as follows:
The resistance of the machine at 14" C.
a. The total resistance.......... 2,989 Ohm
b. Resistance in the field magnet 1,468 „ I
c. Resistance in the armature... 1,520 „ j
Driving power without current,
at 893 revolutions: 0,30 horse-power.
It is natural that this driving power can not be
found, employing the same dynamometer, with the accu-
racy, that can be obtained in measuring the driving
power necessary to send currents through various resi-
stances.
