And now that our time has drawn to a close
I must ask you whether that admiration and
wonder which we all feel when we play with
soap-bubbles has been destroyed by these
lectures; or whether now that you know more
about them it is not increased. I hope you
will all agree with me that the actions upon
which such common and every-day phenomena
as drops and bubbles depend, actions which
have occupied the attention of the greatest
philosophers from the time of Newton to the
present day, are not so trivial as to be un-
worthy of the attention of ordinary people like
ourselves.
