dauntless Pizarro and his Spaniards,
the Andes have been famous as a

have had their turn. Atten-
tion is now being given to the Argentine
Cordilleras, where for many years mining has
been carried on in a rough-and-ready fashion
by miners of the hardiest kind, and where will
be some of the greatest mining centres of the
