The Influence of Various Manures on the Growth of Wheat
These samples were grown on the famous experimental farm at Rothamsted, where the in-
fluence of various manures has been observed and recorded for more than half a century. The
photograph shows clearly that unmanured soil is greatly impoverished, and that to get the best
results nitrogenous as well as mineral manure is required.
