FILE FILOSOPHY
teeth of the cross-cut saws technically called hook-
tooth. Seldom called for.
PITSAW File. Sometimes ordered as Framesaw.
Blunt. Single cut, second cut. Length, 3V' to 10".
Use: For filing the teeth of what are known as
pit and frame saws.
CABINET File. In section wider and thinner
than the Half Round. Taper. Double cut, coarse
bastard. Length, 6" to 16”.
Used by cabinet makers and other wood workers
generally.
CABINET Rasp. Rasp cut, second cut. In other
respects and uses same as Cabinet Files.
Triangular Sections
TAPER. (See various headings, as HANDSAW
Taper etc.)
Three-Square File. Taper. Double cut,
mostly bastard. Length, 3" to 18".
