The raw materials for cement: clay and chalk occur under extremely favourable conditions in Northern Jutland on the Liim-Fiord, where large steamers can enter and there load cement direct from the places of pro- duction. The Danish cement industry has been carried to the highest pitch of technical perfection, and has in several respects served as a model for similar establishments in foreign countries constructed by Danish ex- perts and supplied with machines from Denmark — (see page ). Almost half of the aggregate output of the Danish cement industry is exported, and the value of same amounts to abt. 6 million Kr. annually.
