cream or milk which has been pasteurised (heated to at least 80° C.), and
has been marked at the place of manufacture with the marking prescribed
in Sect. 6; provided that the Minister of Agriculture may authorise the
exportation of Danish butter without the prescribed mark, if it is packed
in hermetically sealed receptacles (se Sect. 6 and 11).
Sect. 6.
A uniform mark applicable to the whole country shall be prescribed
by Royal Decree, and it shall be applied at the place of manufacture,
to the extent prescribed in the Decree, to all butter made at creameries
accepted for control and which contains not moie than 16 % of water
(see Sect. 9) from cream — excepting whey cream — or milk which has
been pasteurised (heated to 80° C.). This mark shall be known as the
»Lur Brand«.
The uniform mark shall be applied both to the packing and to paper
labels (control labels) which shall be placed on the butter itself, and the
Minister of Agriculture may issue regulations requiring that letters or
numbers or both letters and nwmbers shall be used in connection with
the Lur Brand, and may issue other regulations with respect to the
marking.
It may be prescribed in the Decree, that quantities of butter of
5 kilograms (c. 11 lbs.) or less may be exempt from having control labels
applied.
The Lur Brand shall not be affixed to butter:
1) which is delivered from the creamery to the owner or tenant of the
creamery or the employees, the co-operators or the milk suppliers,
for their own use, or,
2) which at the place of manufacture (creamery), according to special
authorisation from the Minister of Agriculture, is packed for export
in hermetically sealed receptacles, provided that both each recep-
tacle and the packing containing it is marked with a special mark-
ing to be prescribed by the Minister of Agriculture, indicating that
the butter is Danish. Such butter shall not be sold retail in Den-
mark.
The Lur Brand, the use of which is protected by Sects. 7 & 8 of this
Act, has been registered in England in the name of the Danish Minister
of Agriculture.
