It is a land where the art of weaving Carpets, Rugs, and soft W oollen Materials by hand has reached an artistic pitch which cannot be approached by the most ingeniously contrived mechanism, for in all their work the Persians recognise! that art shuns mathematical exactness in detail. MOROCCO. ENTRANCE TO GRAND AVENUE FROM INDUSTRIAL HALL. There is a romance surrounding Morocco, which makes the exhibit of the Govern^ ment of that country very acceptable. The Management of the Exhibition have placed the Moorish Stand at the- entrance to the Grand Avenue, and it has been built in a fantastic design typical of the country. Moorish Commissioners to H.S.M. the Emperor:—Hadj Mohamed Belkassem Guenum, from Fez ; Sid Mohamed Ben Tifi Bohlal, from Tetuan; and H. Cansino, Secretary, from Manchester. Fez.—Horse Saddles with Richly Embroidered Velvet and Silk Covers in fine gold. Ladies’ Leather and Velvet Slippers, embroidered in Fine Gold and Silk. Showy Haiks for Ball Dresses. Gentlemen’s Slippers of fine Morocco, Yellow Leather. Swords and Daggers beautifully ornamented with Silver, hand engraved, and Silk Tassels, etc. Fancy Large Lanterns for Candles, hand- painted. All sorts of Antique Hand-painted Crockery, including Flower Pots, Cups and Saucers, Kettles and Teapots, and Large Flower Ornaments, etc. Large and Small Engraved Brass Trays and Incense Burnex-s. Velvet Pillow Cushions embroidered in Fine Gold. Morocco.—Guns with Silver Ornaments, hand engraved. Leather Bags, embroidered' in Silk, all colours, etc. Antique Moorish Coins in Gold, Silver, and Copper, etc., etc. Rabat.—Large and Small Carpets (different designs) and Blankets (fast colours). Tetuan.—Guns with hand engraved Silver Ornaments. Silk and Velvet Curtains' and Bed Covers, embroidered in Fine Gold and Silk.
