Regulations for Exhibitors. 49 REGULATIONS FOR EXHIBITORS. 1 .—An International Exhibition, under the patronage of His Majesty the King, will be held in Glasgow in 1901. 2 .—The Exhibition will be opened early in May, and will continue open for a period of about six months. - The piincipal objects to be exhibited are comprised in the accompanying Classification, which must not be considered to be exhaustive. 4 .—It is not intended to issue any awards. 5 .—Charge will be made for space, except in special cases to be determined by the Exhibits and Space Committee. The charge for space inside the building will be 3s. per square foot, with a minimum charge of £5. Whatever Vacant space Exhibitors require around their exhibits beyond the usual passages, will have to be paid for. Exhibitors requiring wall-space only must mention the fact when* making application, when they will be informed on what conditions it will be granted. Space in the grounds will be let on special terms to be arranged by the Committee, but in such cases plans must accompany the application, and all surface damage must be made good by the Exhibitor on removal. Payment to the extent of 25 per cent, of the amount pavable must accompany all applications, and the balance must be forwarded on receipt of tho notice °f allotment. In no case, however, can the deposit be less than the minimum charge of £5. Exhibits will not be admitted until payment for space has been made in full Spaces not occupied seven days previous to the opening of the Exhibition will be otherwise allotted, and all payments made in respect thereof absolutely forfeited. Exhibitors will have to pay all expenses of conveying, delivering, arranging, fixing and removing their exhibits, and also the cost of the erection of all fixtures, screens, and counters required; and they must personally, or by a representative, superintend the transmission, reception, unpacking, installation, and (at the close of the Exhibition) the removal of their goods. The Executive Council reserve to themselves the right of doing whatever may be considered necessary at the expense of the Exhibitor, unless this regulation is strictly complied with. The Executive Council will not be responsible for any loss of exhibits by theft, or for any loss or damage to exhibits, from any cause whatever. 6 - Steam, and power from the main shafting, will be supplied to Exhibitors in the Machinery Hall by the Executive Council free of charge, and subject to special regula- tions. Exhibitors requiring motive power must fill up the special Application Form which has been prepared for this Section, and which will be supplied by the General Manager upon application. Exhibitors requiring counter-shafting, pulleys, belting, cables, pipes and fittings must supply these at their own expense. 7 .— Schedules of Application for Space and for Power may be had from the General Manager, Mr. H. A. Hedley, 36 St. Vincent Place, Glasgow. These must be filled up and returned on, or before, 1st June, 1900. The decision of the Exhibits and Space Committee will be notified as soon as possible after that date. 8 .—The nature of the articles, which it is proposed to exhibit, must be fully specified in the Form of Application for Space, and no article which is not clearly described in the Application Porm will be allowed in the Exhibition without the special permission of the Exhibits and Space Committee. 9 .—The Executive Council reserve the right to refuse any exhibit, without stating any reason for so doing 10 .—The Foreign and Colonial Commissioners or Commercial Agents appointed by the respective Governments are invited to communicate with the General Manager. The Executive Council will place at their disposal all information and plans that may bo useful to them. 11 . Applicants for space from countries in which no Commissioner or Agent has been appointed will correspond directly with the General Manager. 12 .—The Executive Council will endeavour to obtain from the various Railways, Steamship Companies, and Carriers, special terms for the conveyance of Exhibitors’’ goods to and from the Exhibition, and these arrangements will be communicated to intending Exhibitors. packages containing goods for Exhibition must have painted on two sides the distinctive matk The name and address of the Exhibitor, and the allotment number of the space must also be given. Labels for this purpose will bo supplied to each Exhibitor. 14 .—Packages from foreign countries must likewise have painted on two sides the distinctive mark : They must also be marked in such a way as to show distinctly Glasgow.
