was sent out in this country the following passage is to be found: »The Danish Government has recognized it to be of importance that our country should not stay away on this occasion. Parliament has voted a grant of Kr. 250,000 ($ 67,200) to be applied to the participation of Danish in- dustry in the Exposition, and this amount has been placed at the disposal of Industriforeningen i Kjøbenhcivn (the Copen- hagen Industrial Union). Under these circumstances this Union has deemed fit to assume the guarantee of providing a Danish section«. Consequently the Union elected a commission for the representation of Denmark at the World’s Columbian Expo- sition, and this commission, whose members are named above (p. 3), was authorized by the Government.
