Discharge Pipe from an Air Lift at a Hacienda near Mexico City. The Compressor Plant, as
Illustrated on the Opposite Page, is shown in the Background.
Three Times öls Much Water.
Some idea of the efficiency of the Air Lift System is given by John
Ernest, Chief Engineer of the Hoopeston, Ill., Water Works :
“After air compressor was in place and connected we pumped a
day to have everything in good order outside of reservoir. On the
next day we put the well for a test for quantity, and we found that
the Air Lift furnishes nearly three times as much water as the
deep well pump. By measurement we find we raise 16,000 gallons of
water every 40 minutes.
“We are highly pleased with the Air Lift and compressor, and we
can recommend it to anybody that wants a modern outfit to get water
quick and plenty, and to get rid of the clumsy deep well pump.”
