Increased Flow 84 Per Cent.
.A case where the demand for an increased water supply was met
by the Air Lift System is instanced by Superintendent Arthur
McArthur, of the Dubuque, Iowa, Water Works :
“With the use of air we have increased the normal flow from our
10-inch wells fully 84 per cent., with comparatively small increase in
coal consumption.
“There has been no diminution in the flow from the wells, and, in
fact, we can see a slight increase.
Cost of Eight Years* Service.
A record for eight years of service is given by W. E. Reynolds,
Clerk of the Board of Trustees of Public Affairs at Celina, 0..
“We have been using the Ingersoll-Sergeant Drill Company’s
compressor and Air Lift for pumping water at our plant for the past
eight years with the best results. 1 lie expense in the way of repairs
on the machinery to present would not exceed $30, notwithstanding
the fact that our consumption of water is double what it was when the
plant was installed.”
