COAL TIPS OR HOISTS 561 The whole of the pipes—pressure and return water—are solid drawn steel tubes of the Mannesmann type. At this dock eight tips, twenty-five cranes, as well as the dock gates, are manipulated by hydraulic plant (z in Fig. 784) consisting of four double acting pumps, each of 600 H.P., Fig. 785.
