Nykøbing, Falster.
Nykjøbing Falster, in Lat. 54° 46' N., Long. 11° 52' E., is on Guld-
borgsund between the islands of Falster and Laaland. 20 feet of water
in a dredged channel and at the outside of the mole, but inside of the
harbour itself there are only 15 feet. Ships with a draught of 20 feet can
enter the harbour at high water. Pilots can be obtained at Guldborg, and
at Gjedser. Small repairs can be executed in the two machine shops. Tugboat
can be obtained, also a limited quantity of coal and provisions.
Odense.
Odense in Lat. 55° 24' N., Long. 10° 23' E., is situated on the North
coast of the island of Fyen at the end of a canal about 5 English miles
long and 19 feet deep. There are 20 feet of water at several of the wharves
and they are provided with railroad tracks, a 10 ton crane and several
machine shops for small repairs. There is a tugboat and compulsory pilotage.
Coal, provisions and water are plentiful. Time signal regulated by Green-
wich mean noon. Storm signals displayed.

Randers.
Randers in Lat. 56° 28' N., Long. 10° 3' E. about 18 English miles
from the Kattegat at the head of the fjord of the same name on the East
coast of Jutland. Pilots can be obtained at »Udbyhøj« at the mouth of the
fjord. 19 feet of water with soft muddy bottom can now be found on the
bar and in the harbour. A powerful tugboat is owned by the Harbour Board,
and works in winter as an ice breaker. Machine shops for small repairs.
