“headers” with a steam and water drum above. The
tubes are arranged in vertical rows, not exactly over one
another, but zigzag, as will be seen from the view
of one of the headers on Plate 3, Fig, 40. If there are
seven pairs of headers, each carrying eight tubes, there
will be fifty-six tubes in all. As a matter of fact,
