15-Centimetre (5.905-In.) Howitzer on Hydro-pneu-
matic Carriage (Figs. 1000 and 1001).—This type has
been adopted in service by the Bulgarian Government.

breech-block ; the latter is fitted with a plastic obturator,
firing being effeeted by means of obturating friction fuse.
A special vent-cover allows the fuse to be screwed in when

The howitzer is built up of the following parts : a tube
in the rear of which is the breech-block seating, and a
the firing-line ca.nnot be adjusted until the breech is
completely closed.
The carriao-e contains the cradle, which rests, through
its trunnions, 011 the trail, and carries the gun through two
slides, in which fit the lateral flanges of the gun ; the
latter can recoil in the cradle over 450 millimétrés
(17.716 in.). The two hydraulic recoil cylinders absorb
the recoil of the gun in the cradle ; they are in one piece
