Russian River Police Discard Stearin
The Cylinder Oil “600 W.” and burning material, Vaclite, delivered to the
River Police, distinguish themselves by an excellent quality and economy
in comparison with other lubricants and burning materials, while especially
Vaclite, burning in tin lamps with a wick and being quite consistent, thus
substituting Stearin and other candles, causes a great economy and is very
handy as well in the open air at cold weather, as in closed rooms with high
temperatures.
—Chief of the River Police of Nishni-Novgorod, Russia.
SAFETY FIRST

Royal Italian Ship “Doris.” This lamp
burns forty hours with one filling of Vac-
lite, and can only be opened with key in
possession of chief lamp keeper.
Russian Sugar Factories and
Refineries Economize
with Vaclite
We beg to inform you that we
for years use at our factory, your
Gargoyle Vaclite for lighting pur-
poses by the aid of hand lamps, and
find that this product proves to be
better than oil. The workmen
usually mix the fuel oil with petro-
leum, and such a mixture is dan-
gerous with regard to fire, while
Gargoyle Vaclite, when poured out,
does not catch fire. Further, the
workmen use the oil also for other
purposes, as for instance, cleaning
their shoes, whereby the consump-
tion increases, while Gargoyle Vac-
lite can be used only for lamps.
Therefore, Gargoyle Vacilte gives a
more favorable calculation and it
substitutes very well all lighting ma-
terials, used by aid of hand lamps;
besides it has the advantage of not
smoking which is of great hygienical
importance when the boilers and
other reservoirs are cleaned.
—Manager of the Sugar Factory,
Potuschen, Russia.
