VÀSÀRCSAR- NOKOK. — A székes fôvàros Matuska Alajos tanàcsnok, mint a kozgazdasågi és kôzélelme- zési tanåcsi ügyosztàly vezeto- jének kezdeményezése folytån, a nyilt élelmi piaczok helyett az élelmi våsårcsarnokok intéz- ményének létesitését hatårozta el. Egyszerre öt öriäsi våsår- csarnokot épitettek : a IX. ke- rületben a központi 1. szåmu, a VIII. kerületben a 2-ik sz., a VII. kerületben a 3-ik sz., a VI. kerületben 9. sz., és az V. kerületbenaz o.sz. detail-vâsâr- csarnokokat. A hold-utczai, a a Hunyady-téri és az Istvån- téri väsärcsarnokokat a hâ- zak kôzé épitették, elôl bér- häzzal, mely mögött van a tulajdonképpeni csarnok. — A központi és a Ràkéczy-téri våsårcsarnokok minden olda- lon szabadon ållnak s diszes külsejökkel imponålnak. A szé- kes-fovåros ebben is lépést tar- tott a nagy vilågvårosokkal, merttudvalévo, hogy anagyobb metropolisokban mår régôta ilyen våsårcsarnokok vannak. A tereket, a hol eddig a pia- czok voltak, befåsitjåk és igy ismét több sétånynyal fog gaz- dagodni a fôvàros. MARKTHALLEN IN BUDA- PEST. — Die Haupt- und Residenzstadt Budapest hat in Folge Anregung des Leiters der Sektion für Volkswirth- schaft und Approvisionirung, Magistratsrath Matuska be- schlossen, statt den öffent- lichen Marktplätzen Markt- hallen zu errichten. Zu gleicher Zeit hat man fünf riesige Markt- hallen gebaut, und zwar im IX. Bez. eine Centralmarkt- halle Nr. 1., im VIII. Bezirk eine Nr. 2., im VII. Bez. Nr. 3., im VI. Bezirk Nr. 4 und im V. Bezirk je eine Detailmarkt- halle. Die Markthallen in der Mondgasse, am Hunyadyplatz und am Stephansplatz hat man zwischen die Häuser gebaut, vorn mit Zinshäusern, hinter denen sich die eigentlichen Markthallen befinden. — Die Centralmarkthalle und jene am Räköczyplatz stehen hingegen von allen Seiten frei, sie haben ein imposantes Äussere. Die Haupt- und Residenzstadthält auch diesbezüglich mit den grossen Weltstädten Schritt, denn es ist ja bekannt, dass die grösseren Metropolen schon f längst Markthallen besitzen. LES HALLES AUX VIVRES A BUDAPEST. C’est sur Ini- tiative du Conseiller municipal Matuska, chef de la section pourl’économie nationale etles les approvisionnements, que la Ville de Budapest a décidé de remplacer les marchés en plein air, par des Halles. La con- struction de cinq grandes Halles a été décrétée et entreprise dans ces dernières années: la Halle centrale No. 1 dans le IXème arrondissement, la Halle Nr. 2 dans le VUI-ième arrondissement, la Halle No. 3 dansleVIIème arrondissement, la Halle No. 4 dans le Vlème arrondissement et la Halle No. 5 dans le Verne arrondt. Les halles dans la rue de la lune, sur la place Hunyady et sur la place Etienne sont enclavées entre des maisons de rapport, tandis que la Halle centrale et celle construite sur la place Râkéczysont dégagées de tous les côtés. La ville de Budapest a, sous ce rapport, voulu suivre l’exemple des autres métro- poles où, depuis longtemps déjà, il existe des halles aux vivres. Les places des marchés en plein air seront remplacées par des jardins publics. THE MARKET-HALLS OF BUDAPEST. — On the inici- ative motion by Town-coun- cillor A. Matuska, chairman of the economic and provisioning administrative section, the Corporation had decided to abolish all open market places in the town, and to erect in- stead of them market halls for the sale of provisions. Five very large halls were simul- taneously built of which No. 1. the Central market hall is in the IX-th district, and four re- tail market halls of which No 2 is in the VUI-th, No 3 in the VU-th, No 4 in the Vl-th and No 5 in the V-th district. The market-halls in Hold street, on Hunyadi square and on Stephens square are built bet- ween private dwelling houses, with mansions in front, behind which the market hall stands, but the Central and the other retail hall on Räkoczy square stand free all round. The Cor- poration has in this respect followed the exemple of the leading towns of the world. The open spaces formerly oc- cupied by markets are now transformed into promenades with trees and flowerbeds.
