DIE TÜRKISCHE MOSCHEE VON OS-BUDAVAR. - Die anlässlich des Millenniums wieder aufgerichtete alte Burg Ofen ist dazu berufen, das Bild der einstigen lurken- welt in Ungarn aufzufrischen. Es ist durch vorgefundene Holzschnitte aus jener Zeit bewiesen, dass damals inmitten Ofens eine Moschee stand. Diese nun prasentnt sich uns hier. Zum Vorbilde nahm der Baumeister die noch bestehende Moschee von Erlau und jene von Serajevo. Vor der Moschee steht ein hübscher Brunnen mit zierlichen Säulen und vom Minaret ertönt allabendlich der langgedehnte Autrui des Muezzins zum Gebet an alle Gläubige. Unmittelbar neben der Moschee steht das Haus des Fakirs, während rechts von der Moschee der türkische Bazar zu sehen ist. f^^ * LA MOSQUÉE TURQUE A ÖS-BUDAVAR (l’ancienne ville de Bude sous les Turcs). A l'occasion des fêtes du Millénaire, une grande entreprise s’est constituée pour établir à proximité même du bois de ville une reproduction de la ville de Bude telle qu’elle existait sous la domination turque. Parmi les constructions notables de 1 epoque, nous avons cru devoir donner à nos lecteurs la vue d’une mosquée dont 1 existence a dûment été établie par des documents authentiques et qui. a eté reproduite d apres, la mosquée existant encore à Eger et d’après celle de Serajevo. Devant la mosquée on a installé une très jolie fontaine. Tous les soirs du haut du minaret retentit la voix monotone du Muezzin invitant les croyants à la prière. THE MOSQUE OF ANCIENT BUDA. — The fortress of Buda, as it was during the time of the Turkish occupation, hass been re-erected for the Millennary festivities and forms a most interesting part of the Exhibition. Froom woodcuts, dating from the last period of the occupation, it appears that a large mosque existed in the centre of the fortress. This edifice has been reconstructed in the grounds of »Ancient-Buda», some existing mosques serving as models for the work. In front of the mosque is a Turkish fountain with columns, from the minaret of which the muezzin will call the faithfull to prayer. Moslem divine service will be held inside, and howling dervishes will dance there. Close by stands the fakir’s house and on its fight is the Turkish Bazaar.
