DAS PARLAMENTSGEBÄUDE IN BUDAPEST. — Es war ein alter Wunsch der Nation, für die hehre Arbeit der ungarischen Legislative, in der das Wohl und Wehe des Vaterlandes erwogen und berathschlagt wird, ein würdiges Heim zu besitzen. Endlich, anlässlich der Milleniumsfeier wird dieser Wunsch im grossartigsten Maass- stabe erfüllt werden. Zu dieser Zeit kommt nämlich das am Donauufer befindliche Parlamentsgebäude zur Vollendung. Es wird den Glanz der ungarischen Metropole um ein Bedeutendes erhöhen. Dieses Meisterwerk sichert seinem Architekten, Professor Steindl, einen unsterblichen Namen in der Geschichte der modernen Baukunst. in1liÉJ an»an « « nii.11 ■11—w qsi"> - ku-s^s^ LE NOUVEAU PARLEMENT A BUDAPEST. — Depuis longtemps déjà la Nation hongroise aspirait à posséder un palais, digne de ce nom, pour la Représentation nationale chargée de l’élaboration des importants travaux législatifs que comporte le régime parlementaire. Ce voeu ardent sera enfin en partie exaucé à l’occasion des fêtes destinées à perpétuer le millénaire, époque à laquelle la construction du nouveau Parlement établi sur la rive gauche du Danube, touchera à sa fin. — Cette construction grandiose, un chef-d’oeuvre d’architecture gothique, est due au génie de l’architecte et professeur Mr. Steindl dont le nom fera époque dans l’histoire de l’architecture. THE NEW HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT, BUDAPEST. — It was a long cherished desire of the Nation, to possess an Edifice for the Meeting of her Parliament, worthy of the important work carried on in it, touching the welfare and existence of the Realm. This ardent wish will soon be gratifiedas, 'the monumental palace erected on the bank of the Danube, as represented by our picture, will be finished next year. This monumental Palace, which the hungarian Nation has erected for her Legislative body, will be a worthy ornament of our rising Metropolis, enhancing her beauty and splendour. This architectural Gem, was designed by Architect Steindl.
