easy it may be set right by one movement of the back leg
of the tripod.
Sometimes—especially in photographing buildmgs—there
appears to be too much foreground and not enough sky
(fig. 12); this may usually be remedied without using the
swing back.
The simplest plan is to use the “rising front (as shewn
in fig. 13), which is operated in various ways according to
Fig. II.

carries the lens) is clamped by screws which must be eased
a little while the lens board is lifted upwards 1lie student
should examine the image on the screen while he moves
the lens, and note the effect. When it is raised enough
it may again be clamped in position. : L
When photographing high buildings, we advise the student
to raise the lens front before tilting his camera; in this way
he will diminish the necessity for using the swing back, and
may possibly obviate it altogether.
